We recently completed a fiber optic splicing project in Cadillac Michigan. The project involved splicing 60 Commscope taps along with 6 associated cases and splitters.
It took our two techs 10 days to complete the work. As always, the splicing was nearly perfect with no bent tubes and all but one tap tested great the first time around. One of the taps initially had high light levels that involved some minor troubleshooting.
Troubleshooting Fiber
Issues with fiber networks are usually resolved easily with a red light. Breaks and bends are quickly located by simply looking at the open fiber. A bend when the fiber is still within the tubes can be a little more complicated but is made easier with a OTDR meter.
Luckily the trouble was just a loose jumper wire inside the door of the tap and was resolved in a matter of minutes. Access to the jumper in Commscope taps are designed to be opened relatively easy yet this is almost never required.
Better Fiber Optic Techs
Because our techs are better than the rest, this project took only ten days. Some local companies send crews three times the size and take twice as long. Most of our techs are also skilled in copper and fiber.
We also provide same day 24 hour emergency fiber repair. If you need a fiber optic contractor in Michigan drop us a line
